What England needs is more feet pools.- UPDATED!

Hamburg!
After the journey from hell yesterday [got off the ferry at 2:30, parked outside the hotel at 8:30], today was our relaxed day.
By relaxed, we only walked around for about 5 hours and only covered most of the city!
Hamburg seems pretty nice, although the buildings are all pretty new, almost like they were all built in the last 60 years or so... We found possibly the only other Brit in the city last night, in the Venice themed restaurant next door to the hotel, a very jolly man who arrived in Germany in the 60's and decided to stay. His recommendation of what to do in the city? Get a job and move here.
We wandered around the Camden of Hamburg today, sat in a lovely cafe on a square, walked for miles, got very sun burnt and sat in a really good park with our feet in a pool apparently designed just for that purpose; real Hamburg-ers were doing it too!
Our laundry situation is becoming critical, we're both down to the last pants and the laundry room run by the hotel is broken. Hopefully Berlin will be cleaner!
Not as many photos from today, we're slacking, off to a cafe recommended in the guide book next, then to Berlin in the morning :]

Free wireless in Berlin = more time for jolly tales!

We didn't find that recommended cafe and instead ended up in some of the less touristy parts of Hamburg, amongst only native Hamburg-ers and less than glamorous women plying their trade on street corners we felt that this was perhaps not the area to crack out the map and don our tourist hats. We wandered on, eventually coming across a nice looking restaurant. During the meal we had one of our first cultural discoveries; apparently Germans don't do free tap water in restaurant! Sadly the waiter felt the need to involve other diners to try and translate this confusion only for us to end up with a bottle of water. We smiled and said danke. After that joy we were viciously attacked by a pair of wasps much to the amusement of the people on the adjacent table, remembered the classy strap burn marks on Abi's back and then, to top it off, we realised we didn't have enough Euros with us to pay for the meal. Luckily they took cards!

While wandering around the slightly more alternative part of Hamburg we ended up in what seemed like a nice little antique shop but on further inspection appeared to be the basement of a slightly crazy OCD artist! There was piles of matching old things everywhere, wire netting with various odd dolls heads, keyrings and bottletops woven in and a pile of prosthetic legs!

Worst traffic ever.

The nice park :]

Foot pool!
